We started the evening off at Mona Lisa. It is a wonderful little fondue restaurant in Nampa. Melting Pot doesn't hold a candle to it, ha, no pun intended! Anyways, it is absolutely wonderful, and the decor is out of this world, very intimate and romantic. We enjoyed a four course meal consisting of salad, a wonderful fresh baked sourdough bread and a Mona Sauce. I'm not exactly sure what the Mona sauce is, but it is super good. Then we had a "New World" cheese fondue, a sharp cheddar and Swiss mixed in a tangy beer broth. It was served with chunks of various breads, fresh vegetables, and grapes and apples. It was to die for! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Then comes the entree. Fillet Mignon, Teriyaki rib eye, lemon herb chicken Brest, cajun alligator bratwurst, and shrimp. All served with a variety of dipping sauces, Swiss rosemary potatoes, thick slabs of mozzarella cheese, more bread and a sweet gherkin pickle to cleanse the palate. A personal grill is placed on your table for you to grill your own meats. A plate of vegetables is also provided for your grilling pleasure! Then dessert. Ahh dessert. We chose milk chocolate for our dessert course. Then the plate of goodies included strawberries, marshmallows, pound cake, coconut macaroon, ladyfingers, pretzels and various other pastries and cookies. There were also two little cups, one with shredded coconut and one with crushed peanuts. Dessert, like the rest of the meal, was amazing.
We went to the Mona Lisa for our fifth anniversary a few years ago when I was about to pop with Zoe. while we were there we did the "Message in a Bottle" service, which is where they give you a wine bottle and two pieces of paper. You each write a letter to the other, then you wrap them up and put them in the wine bottle. You come back on your next anniversary, or in our case, two, and open your bottle and read your notes. It was so sweet to be able to read something from that long ago. So much has changed since then, we have come so far. :)
After dinner we went the the Anniversary Inn. Jason had rented the Carriage Suite and it was amazing. It was an old English type setting with a carriage as the bed. The bath tub was a wonderful corner jetted jacuzzi with a spouting lions head as the shower. Bath robes, bubbles, chilled sparkling cider, and two pieces of cheesecake come with the room complimentary. We added on the movie pack which includes two dvd rentals, two theater sized candy choices, 2 20oz coke products, and fresh popped popcorn. We rented Traffic. It was a pretty good movie.
This morning breakfast was delivered hot to our door. It included apple juice, OJ, coffee, cinnamon roll, danish, and yogurt with granola and fresh fruit.
We had an absolutely amazing evening.!!!
